Separate the two people in the fiction

“My character is a cautious researcher” can mean the role you play or the person the AI portrays. If the setup never makes that distinction, the conversation can inherit an ambiguous relationship before it begins.

Rochat’s persona guide documents user background in profile settings, including defaults for new chats and switching personas. Its Character Info page handles the AI character’s background and behavior. Couple.me’s creator emphasizes realistic/anime style, appearance and personality for the companion.

Choose the control that prevents repetition

A reusable persona is valuable when you enter many scenes with the same user identity. It can reduce the need to restate your role at the beginning of each conversation. A companion wizard is valuable when the recurring creative object is the AI character itself.

Do not move every changing scene fact into a permanent identity. A profession may stay stable, while the current goal, location and knowledge change. Keeping those layers separate makes corrections more precise.

Appearance and account access are separate decisions

A visual style does not determine conversational behavior. Write a few concrete habits for the character rather than expecting the portrait to communicate them. Likewise, access to a creator does not establish unlimited messaging or media: Couple.me’s Terms describe paid messaging and feature tokens separately.

Choose the product layer that addresses your recurring need. If you are mainly defining your own role across different characters, examine Rochat’s persona documentation. If you are designing the companion’s identity, examine Couple.me’s creator. No memory-accuracy or image-consistency winner is claimed.
